- Chess Boxing – Finland
Yes, that’s a combination of chess and boxing that involves the strength of beauty and brain. There are 11 rounds in the game comprising of 4 minutes each in which playing of chess and crazy boxing is involved. The winning is decided on the basis of either a check mate or a knockout.
- Buzkashi – Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan
This in fact is a National game of Afghanistan. In this game, the players have to mount on the back of the horse and attempt to place a goat calf carcass in a goal. It is believed to have been invented by the Afghan rulers and invaders when they ran from stealing the goats from other tribes. It means goat pulling in Persian and is similar to Polo where the ball is replaced by headless goats.
- Eukonkanto – Finland
In simpler words, the game is also called as wife carrying. The game is pretty simple where the man has to carry the wife on his back and race crossing the obstacles. The hurdles include two jumps, one water trap, and the track is 20 metre track. If the wife is dropped there is a penalty of 15 seconds. And the wife could be of anyone’s for any man.
- The Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling and Wake – British Isles
In this game, there are 20 competitors and they have to run down the steep Cooper’s hill chasing a cheese block. Quite insane, isn’t it? The winner is the person who runs down the end of the hill first. The winner must get the cheese first in his hand. It is going to be tough and also kind of dangerous as speedy running down the hill is involved.
- Distance Plunging – America
This one is an old Olympic sport and was played in America in the 19th and 20th century. The game is diving into a pool of water and stay in it for as long as possible without moving. The refree would then measure the distance of the dive by the diver after 60 seconds.
This old game was played by the Mesoamericans. In the game, there are two teams and both of them are there in a four walled room where they have to bounce the balls off the walls that weighed 9 kgs without using their hands. The rules also said the ball could not touch the ground. The losers of the match were decapitated.

This game is different from Hurling but is somewhat similar to Rugby or Football where the players have to run and take the ball to the goal. But, the ball here is a very small ball made or pure sterling silver.

This one honestly was named as the sport of death where Vikings used to play a tug of war kind of game where they didn’t pull the rope but used animal hides and instead of pond or mud, it was fire. Vikings used to play this game whenever they won a battle against any tribe in their town. This was deadly and involved rape of women too.

This one is a 400 years old game that is played even today. The gamer has to pin down the opponent on his knees by kicking him in his shin. Doing this, makes you win it. The game is the best of the three rounds and whoever does it twice, wins it.
- Ski Bobbing – Alps
Ski-bobbing is totally different from skiing and snow biking. But, it can be a combination of both. In this game, you just have to attach a ski bob to your feet and just go. The interesting part of this is that the skibob won’t stop until you either crash or hit something.
