Rohit-Kohli to battle it out for three T20I records in West Indies series
The India-West Indies three match T20 International series is all set to begin from Saturday. The first two matches will be played in Florida. The T20I series will witness India’s captain Virat Kohli and vice captain Rohit Sharma race for three amazing T20 International Records.
Both these Indian players are near about the same place as far as T20 records are concerned and it would be interesting to see who reaches these landmarks first.
The highest run getter in T20 Internationals
Both Rohit and Virat may well have to justify themselves for their off the field reported rift. However, when on the field, the duo is sure to give each other a competitive fight.
The first of the many races that these two will participate in will be the race for scoring most runs in this format of the game. As of now, the highest run scorer in T20 Internationals is Rohit Sharma who has scored 2331 runs in 94 T20 Internationals. Virat, meanwhile, is number three on this list and has 2263 runs in 67 matches. Thus, Virat is 68 runs behind the number 1 spot at the moment. It would be interesting to see the scenario at the end of the series.
Most half centuries in T20 Internationals
Not only runs, the duo is also in race for the most half centuries in this format. Both Rohit and Virat have scored 20 T20 International half centuries- the joint highest in the World. The equation then is simple, whoever between the two scores more half centuries, will lead the tally for the most half centuries in T20 International.
However, as far as the T20 International hundred is concerned, Rohit has hit four of them while Virat is yet to reach the triple figure mark in this format.
Most boundaries in T20 Internationals
At the moment, Virat is tied with former Sri Lankan cricketer Tilakratne Dilshan’s tally of 223 boundaries. As soon as Virat hits his first boundary of the series, he will go past him.
Rohit is not too behind though and has 207 boundaries to his credit and he would like to reduce the deficit if not go past Virat in the ongoing series.
